Pathways to Success: Front Desk Operations

Tourism is one of the fastest growing demand occupations in Western New York. This 300-hour Career Pathway course prepares students for an entry-level role as a Front Desk Clerk. The program curriculum includes property management, conflict management, and professionalism within the hospitality industry. Students receive a nationally recognized accreditation through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) upon successful completion of the program.

Pathways to Success: Check-In to Success a partnership with Delaware North Companies

If you have a passion for guest service and interest in working in the hospitality sector, this Career Pathway program developed in partnership with Delaware North, offers a unique and exciting environment to grow your career. This 45-hour classroom training prepares students for entry-level employment opportunities as a guest service professional within the hospitality industry. The program curriculum includes written and verbal business communication and telephone techniques, basic keyboarding, professionalism, and a nationally recognized accreditation through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

Upon successful completion of the classroom training, students choose from a career track of their choice within the Delaware North organization and begin a paid-work experience to complete training. Career tracks include Front Desk / Guest Services, Housekeeping / Maintenance, and Food & Beverage.

Pathways to Success: Assembling Your Future: Certified Production Technician

Advanced Manufacturing is one of the fastest growing demand occupations in our region. Working in partnership with the Buffalo Niagara Manufacturers Alliance (BNMA), our Assembling Your Future: Certified Production Assistant career pathway trains students for entry-level positions within the manufacturing industry. Upon completion of the program, students receive nationally recognized accreditations including the National Work Readiness Credential, National Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) credential and OSHA 10 for General Industry.  

This program focuses on four major areas of instruction: Safety, Manufacturing Processes & Production, Quality Practices & Measurement and Maintenance Awareness. While students study these skills in the classroom half of the day, the second half they learn on the job through a paid-work experience with an employer partner. This blend of traditional and experiential learning provides students an opportunity to earn as they learn.

Regional Sector Partnership Grant (RSP)

Our out-of-the-box programming currently includes a Regional Sectional Partnership Grant that bridges workforce training efforts across Niagara, Cattaraugus, Alleghany and Chautauqua Counties. Together our Workforce Investment Boards connect and collaborate to address growing training needs cross regionally in Hospitality and Tourism industry. The RSP partnership allows our regional workforce system to share best practices, innovative training models and new ways to engage regional employers and partners in long term training and employment relationships.
