If you are an ex-offender in need of help, the Buffalo Employment and Training Center (BETC) can help.

Step to Succeed Academy Brochure

Here are some of the services available to you at BETC:

 

  • Job search assistance
  • Resume development
  • Job placement services
  • Workshops on interviewing, career planning cover letters and more
  • Introductory computer classes
  • Beginning computer classes in Microsoft 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and keyboarding
  • How to complete employment applications, including on-line applications
  • Explaining legal issues related to criminal records and job search
  • Federal Bonding Program as a job search tool - this program provides fidelity bond insurance coverage to businesses who hire ex-offenders
  • Work Opportunities Tax Credit Program for ex-offenders hired no later than 1 year after conviction or release from prison
  • On-the-job Training Program
  • Career planning and counseling
  • Specialized training available in targeted demand occupations / careers
  • Support services and referral to human services agencies
  • High School Equivalency (GED) preparation and testing
  • Job Club
  • Networking group
